Pune: October 16 — On the occasion of Kojagiri Purnima, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has announced that all 211 public gardens in the city will remain open until midnight. This special arrangement, scheduled for Wednesday, October 16, allows citizens to enjoy the festival under the full moon, as it is traditionally associated with Goddess Laxmi.
Ashok Ghorpade, head of PMC’s garden department, explained, “Many citizens prefer to visit gardens on Kojagiri Purnima to celebrate in the presence of the full moon. As in previous years, we are extending the garden hours to midnight.” He also urged visitors to maintain cleanliness in the gardens during the festivities.
