Pune : Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) is moving forward with plans to establish international sub-centres in Georgia, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, and Kazakhstan following requests from these governments. This initiative aligns with SPPU’s existing overseas presence, such as its sub-centre in Qatar.
SPPU Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Suresh Gosavi, confirmed that the university is now preparing Letters of Intent to formalize the process, signaling a significant step toward internationalization. “The respective authorities approached us a few months back, seeking the establishment of SPPU sub-centres in their countries,” he stated, emphasizing SPPU’s commitment to global outreach.
Prof. Vijay Khare, Director of SPPU’s International Centre, added that initial discussions took place when delegations from these countries visited SPPU three months ago. With the management council’s support, the university is now ready to advance its plans for these new international centres.
