Leopard dies of starvation in Daund

Pune : A leopard was found dead in a sugarcane field in Galandwadi area of ​​Daund tehsil at 9 am on Thursday, this information was given by Yavat’s forest officer Ankush Kharat. Forest department officials have speculated that it may have died due to hunger.

Farmer Vijay Dedge has a farm near Garuda Farm in Galandwadi area. Vijay was roaming in the field on Thursday morning. Meanwhile, he saw a male leopard in a dead state near the sugarcane field. He informed the forest department about this. Daund’s forest range officer Rahul Kale, Yavat’s forest officer Ankush Kharat, Virendra Lankeshwar, Bharat Shitole, Suresh Pawar, Ganesh Mhaske reached the spot and made a Panchnama. Delwadi’s veterinary officer Dr. Neeta Ladukar conducted the postmortem. No injuries were found on the leopard’s body. The forest department has speculated that the leopard may have died due to not getting food and water for a few days.
