Fake Doctor Running Fissure Treatment Centre Arrested in Warje

A fake doctor has been arrested for operating a medical clinic without any legitimate medical qualifications or recognition from the Maharashtra Council of Indian Medicine. The Warje police registered a case against the individual under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Maharashtra Medical Practitioners Act.

The accused, identified as Bibhuti Bimal Bagchi (43, resident of Gokul Nagar, Warje), was reported by Dr. Aruna Tarde (45), a medical officer with PMC. According to police information, Bagchi, originally from another district, had set up a fissure treatment centre in the Sayyad Nagar area of Warje. He has been running this clinic since approximately 2002 until September 2024, falsely claiming to hold medical degrees such as ND and BEMS (ND).
