Bhor: Five bridges in Velhe tehsil need structural audits. This includes the Mahad-Madheghat bridge, which is approximately 50 years old. Additionally, the Vinjar, Pabe, Chirmode-Kusgaon, and Dapsare bridges on the Saiv-Ghol road, located on the Nasrapur-Velhe route, are also part of this list. Repairs for these bridges have been deemed necessary.
The bridges at Ambone and Kusgaon were repaired a few years ago. Currently, all bridges in the tehsil are suitable for traffic. Entry to Velhe tehsil is via the ‘Evans Garden’ bridge on the Shivganga River near Nasrapur. This bridge falls under the state highway network and was built by the then Pant Sachiv of Bhor at a cost of 10,163 rupees. It was inaugurated on February 10, 1942, and was last repaired about 20 years ago.
A causeway near Ambone and a girder bridge near Velhe village were built in 1934 at a cost of 9,000 rupees. A new bridge was also constructed near Velhe in 1997. The Madheghat bridge connects to the Mahad border and is part of the state highway. Velhe tehsil has a total of 23 large bridges, with 5 under state highways and 18 under major district roads. These bridges have an average length of 6 to 30 meters. Of these, five bridges require structural audits and repairs. A letter has been sent to the senior office regarding this matter.
The Public Works Department has stated that currently, no bridge in the tehsil is in a dangerous condition. All bridges are open, and traffic is running smoothly on them.
