Pune : The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has introduced a special New Year’s offer to encourage customers to adopt its Go Green facility. Customers who choose this eco-friendly option will receive a one-time discount of ₹120 on their electricity bill.
Rajendra Pawar, Chief Engineer of MSEDCL’s Pune circle, highlighted the initiative’s benefits, stating, “The Go Green facility supports the ‘Save Paper, Save Environment’ campaign by providing a ₹10 monthly discount on power bills for opting to receive e-bills instead of printed statements. As part of this new offer, customers will get a ₹120 reduction on their first bill for the next 12 months.”
He further emphasized, “This initiative not only incentivizes customers to go paperless but also underscores MSEDCL’s commitment to environmental conservation.”
Currently, only 4.62 lakh (1.15%) of MSEDCL’s 3-crore low-tension (LT) consumers have subscribed to this service. To boost participation, MSEDCL plans to send SMS notifications to registered consumers, encouraging them to enroll in the Go Green facility. Upon enrollment, customers will immediately receive a ₹120 discount on their electricity bill.
