Pune: A case of bribery has been registered against Dattatreya Namdev Kale, a police sub-inspector posted at Hinjewadi Police Station, for allegedly demanding a ₹60,000 bribe in exchange for submitting a favorable report to the court in a bail application.
The bribe was reportedly sought in connection with an assault case in which the complainant’s husband is an accused. The complainant, a 30-year-old woman, approached the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) after Kale allegedly made the demand.
During a preliminary verification by the ACB, the bribe amount was reportedly negotiated down to ₹30,000, although no trap was executed. Based on the findings, an FIR was registered on May 14 at the Hinjewadi police station against Sub-Inspector Kale.
The investigation is currently being conducted by Police Inspector Prem Waghmore, under the supervision of SP Shirish Sardeshpande and ASP Dr. Sheetal Janve.
