Pune : Suzlon Group is playing a key role in decarbonizing hard-to-abate sectors through a major 400 MW wind power order from JSP Green Wind 1 Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of Jindal Renewables. This is the largest commercial and industrial (C&I) win in the sector, strengthening Suzlon’s leadership and supporting India’s clean energy transition. With this order, Suzlon’s total order book reaches nearly 5.4 GW.
Suzlon will provide 127 advanced wind turbine generators (WTGs) with Hybrid Lattice Tubular (HLT) towers, each with a 3.15 MW capacity, to be installed in Karnataka’s Koppal region. The energy produced will be used for steel plants in Chhattisgarh and Odisha, improving operational sustainability and furthering India’s green energy objectives.
Girish Tanti, Vice Chairman of Suzlon Group, expressed pride in partnering with the Jindal Group, emphasizing the collaboration as a key step toward a low-carbon future and aligning with India’s 2070 net-zero vision. Bharat Saxena, President of Jindal Renewables, noted the importance of integrating green energy into steelmaking, aiming for the Group’s net-zero target by 2047.
Suzlon CEO, JP Chalasani, highlighted the significance of decarbonizing the steel sector and called the collaboration a testament to ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat,’ hoping it will inspire others to adopt sustainable practices.
