Inauguration of National Constitution Awareness Council of Maharashtra Andhashraddha Nirmoolan Samiti in Alandi
Pune : The launch of the Har Ghar Samvidhaan Abhiyan is a positive step for the nation. However, it is crucial to ensure that the essence of the Constitution reaches every household and that its provisions are followed by the government and administration. Addressing the rising instances of anti-constitutional statements aimed at creating societal tensions, Martin Makwana, a constitutional scholar from Ahmedabad, emphasized that the Constitution is not just a legal document but a guide to living. He stressed that its values should form the foundation of life.
Makwana was speaking at the inaugural session of the Samvidhaan Jagar National Conference, organized to mark the 35th anniversary of the Maharashtra Andhshraddha Nirmoolan Samiti, founded by Dr. Narendra Dabholkar. The event was held in Santbhoomi Alandi. Makwana highlighted Dr. Ambedkar’s efforts to diagnose and treat societal issues using the Indian Constitution, which he described as a comprehensive framework ensuring justice for all. He urged citizens to recognize their roles and responsibilities, asserting that true constitutional success lies in individual understanding and implementation.
Call for Constitution in Education
Avinash Patil, in his presidential address, voiced concerns about political efforts to weaken institutions established under the Constitution. He advocated for collaborative efforts among like-minded organizations to strengthen constitutional values in society. Patil also proposed including the Constitution as a separate subject in the education curriculum to instill its principles in younger generations.
Actor Nikhil Chavan encouraged continuing the legacy of social reformers, while Prof. Khalil Ansari, ANIS State Executive President Madhav Bavge, and State Principal Secretary Sanjay Bansode also shared their insights during the event. Delegates from across the country, including Bangalore, attended the conference, underscoring the growing movement to promote constitutional awareness and adherence.
