Pune: A three-day Gurupurab celebration was held at Dashmesh Darbar Gurdwara in Dashmesh Nagar, Yerawada, from January 17 to 19, to mark the birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Guru of Sikhism. This annual event, a longstanding tradition at the Dashmesh Nagar Gurdwara, aims to unite the Sikh community across Pune to honor the Guru’s legacy.
The birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh was officially observed on January 6, with special programs held in various gurdwaras throughout Pune. The Dashmesh Nagar celebrations featured a Nagar Kirtan procession on the first day, followed by Satsang and sermons led by prominent Sikh religious leaders on the second and third days. These sessions, held in the afternoon and evening, attracted families and individuals from across the city, offering an opportunity for spiritual reflection and community bonding.
To ensure inclusivity and serve all attendees, the organizers arranged Langar (community meals) twice daily throughout the three days. Over 5,000 members of the Sikh community participated in the festivities, taking part in darshan, sermons, and Satsang.
Distinguished religious leaders, including Guru Sarabjit Singh from Ludhiana, Guru Bhai Sahib Bhai from the USA, and Mahila Guru Daddi Jatha, delivered inspiring sermons and guided the community with spiritual teachings.
This grand Gurupurab celebration was jointly organized by the Sikh community of Pune and the Dashmesh Darbar Gurdwara, reinforcing the spirit of unity, devotion, and service.
